Befair Asian Poker Tour Taken By Tony G

Two big name Australian poker players made it to the final table of the Betfair Asian Poker Tour, giving bystanders and rail birds a showdown they won’t soon forget. Along with Tony G and Lee Nelson, two local Singaporeans also made the final table of the $5000 Main Event, putting the home town spirit into full swing.

313 players put up the cash to play in the main event, and only 11 of them could claim Singapore as home turf, so the fact that two of them made it that far was a dream come true for the event organizers, who were counting on the BAPT not only to bring in international talent, but to rev up the live poker play in the local area as well.

Neil Yong and Josh Ang were two of the ten at the final table, which represented a nice international community, including Samuel Lehtonen from Sweden. In the end, however, the Singaporeans were ultimately busted out, as was Lehtonen and even Aussie Millions Main Event champion Lee Nelson as the unstoppable “Aussie Airbag” Tony G plowed through the competition to take first place.

Here are the final table results:
1 Place – Tony Guoga ($451,700)
2 Place – Joshua Ang ($233,200)
3 Place – Lee Nelson ($116,600)
4 Place – Samuel Lehtonen ($102,000)
5 Place – Jeff Kimber ($87,400)
6 Place – Mark Whent ($72,900)
7 Place – Hans Vogl ($58,306)
8 Place – Hendrik Dahlgaard ($43,700)
9 Place – Brendan Walls ($29,200)
10 Place – Neil Yong ($17,500)
