Women Warm To Poker

There was a time not too long ago that the thought of a poker game brought to mind the image of a smoky back room filled with men who where equally divided into the slick and crooked as well as the dirty and rough categories. These days, with the proliferation of poker in all forms of media, from TV to newspapers to the Internet and even radio, the image of poker has certainly changed. With the trends moving in the same direction for the new year, it is likely the gap between women and men players will continue to shrink in 2006.
It is not just the TV faces, the pro poker players, who are turning out to be more women than ever before, but also the online players and those who show up in casinos and home games around the country and across the globe. Women have helped and will continue to help change the popular image of the game of poker.
