WA State Poker May Become Legal
05th 2007f February 2007
Washington State was one of the first of the United States to take a hard line against online poker, and in such a way that caused the poker playing community to shake their heads in disbelief. WA passed a law that made playing online poker a Class C felony, with penalties, fines, and the same amount of jail time as a convicted child molester. One WA legislator, Washington State Rep. Chris Strow, R-Whidbey Island, has decided that enough was enough, and hopes to correct that law to allow personal poker playing an exemption from that law, and introduced House Bill 1243 on January 15, 2007 to that effect.
