Razz Poker Grows in Popularity at WSOP
30th 2006f July 2006
It seems like nobody likes the game of Razz, an offshoot of the much more popular Seven-Card Stud, but one in which the player seeks to make the worst possible hand. While players will tell you time and again how much they don't like the game, they will still sit down when a game forms and try their skill at being bad. At this year's World Series of Poker a new record in attendance was set, as over four hundred players paid $1,500 to play in the two day event. The year before was a record as well, with just over 290 players doing the same. The game of Razz has been comparied to an assembly line, with slow, plodding "action" in great contrast to the excitement that comes with games such as No-Limit Texas Hold 'em.
