PokerRoom.com To Be Sold

They may have foreseen a bright future six years ago, but the Swedish team of IT pros have to be happy about the upcoming sale of their business regardless. With poker still taking the world by storm, the third ranked online poker room, PokerRoom.com, is a tempting acquisition, and BETandWIN.com, an Austrian company, is set to gobble it up. The father and son team that started Ongame, the company that operates PokerRoom.com, stand to make a killing in the sale, with over two and half billion kroners coming to them as their share in the multi-billion kroner deal.
Erik Hornell, along with his three sons Karl, Oskar and Johan, own 53 percent of Ongame until the sale goes through, and they will see a handsome profit for all their hard work. The Austrian company acquiring the site certainly considers it a good investment; PokerRoom.com has six million registered users and pulls in millions of dollars a year, primarily from the Canadian and US markets.
