Poker Magazine Lists Top Poker Names
20th 2005f December 2005
Bluff Magazine does more than cover the poker news and list who won which tournament; it also keeps an eye and develops and understanding of the poker industry as a whole, as indicated by their upcoming “The Poker Power 20”, a list of twenty names that they feel have been the most influential to the world of poker in 2005. The magazine’s editor, Michael Caselli, wanted the list to do more than point out who were the top money earning players of the year, as that information can be found many places. Caselli wanted the list to showcase those names who worked all sides of the poker story, from the people playing the game and influencing more people to pick it up, to the companies that run the tournaments and online poker rooms.
The list includes Doyle Brunson, as any list should, as well as Phil Hellmuth, Chris Moneymaker and other influential poker players. The Co-Founders of the World Poker Tour are on the list (Steve Lipscomb and Lyle Bermen) as well as poker room PokerStars, the spot that paid the way into the WSOP for two of the last three winners.
