Phil Hellmuth Misses Tenth Bracelet
22nd 2006f July 2006
During the second week of this year's World Series of Poker, a world-class champion continued his quest for an elusive tenth World Series of Poker championship bracelet. Known as the Poker Brat, Phil Hellmuth outlasted the majority of the competition in the $5,000 No Limit Hold 'em Event 9, only to face his toughest challenge in a heads-up match that lasted for four hours. Last year Phil famously was in a three-way race to see which player would be the first to own the 10th bracelet. His competitors, Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson, each hit their 10th but not Phil. Coming in second place in event nine, Phil hasn't yet meet his goal, but will be playing in many other events this season.
