Online Poker Defended by Pros
11th of April 2006
Some professional poker players have a question for the folks in Washington: why is online poker considered illegal when it is perfectly legal to sit down and play the game in the US casinos? Chris Ferguson, Greg Raymer, and Howard Lederer all joined with the Poker Players Alliance at a recent press conference to put this another questions to Congress. There are three bills that all share the same goal, although they use separate suggested methods to achieve it.
Should the bills pass one method used to enforce the law concerning illegal online poker playing would be to require Internet service providers to track how private citizens spend money and time online. The poker players alliance and the poker players themselves all agree that this invasion of privacy is wrong.
