North Carolina Store Video Poker Boycott
25th of May 2006
The war against video poker machines continues in the southern state of North Carolina, as one Hope Mills area company has been ordered to suspend all business concerning video poker machines pending the outcome of a lawsuit. Officials in Cumberland County obtained a temporary court order which prohibits Funtime Amusements from operating their gambling poker machines. The store, which has been accused of operating illegal games and being a criminal nuisance, is not only unable to operate the machines for profit, but is unable to sell them, lest they get rid of any evidence.
The owners are accused of paying out cash prizes, which is clearly illegal in the state of North Carolina. It is because of activities such as this that there is such a hot passion to rid North Carolina of the video poker machines.
