Microsoft Folds Plans for Free Poker

When Microsoft's Xbox Live division announced months ago that a free Texas Hold 'em Poker game would become available on the extremely popular Xbox Live Marketplace, it was the talk of the town. Demos are often found on the Marketplace for free downloads, but full games were unheard of for free, and the popularity of Texas Hold 'em guaranteed this would be a hot download. The game's status as free was dependent upon a sponsorship by an online poker site, Riverbellecasino.com.
Now it appears that the sponsorship is invalid, and the release date has been yanked, leaving poker hungry Live fans wanting. The only sure thing coming out of Xbox Live Marketplace Management these days is a certainty that when it is made available, the game will not be for free.
