Man Knifed Over Poker Money
14th 2006f February 2006
In the old west, at least as it is shown on TV and Hollywood films, disputes over poker games can be deadly. Apparently two Navarre men followed the code of the old west when a dispute over money owed via poker turned into a dangerous stabbing incident. Jace Moore, 22, was reported owed money from Dustin Danner, 23, from a poker game. When the two were in attendance in a second poker game the issue of the money owed came to a head. Danner was refusing to pay the money he owed when confronted by Moore, who then took up a steak knife and made to stab Danner in the chest area.
When he missed he kept trying and ended up stabbing Danner four times in the buttocks. When police arrived from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office they found Moore had fled with an iPod and $276 dollars. Danner was found with life threatening injuries and was airlifted to the Pensacola Baptist Hospital.
