Kid Poker Says Hold 'em a Lottery
30th of July 2006
While he is not the only pro poker player to do so, Kid Poker Daniel Negreanu is one of the latest to toss a backhanded slam at the popularity of No-Limit Texas Hold 'em. While Negreanu has made plenty of money on the game over the years, the facts support his comparison of No-Limit Hold 'em as a lottery, with as many as eight thousand players expected at this year's World Series of Poker's Main Event, which has traditionally always been No-Limit Texas Hold 'em. In his poker column, which is syndicated in some fifty papers nationwide, Negreanu refers to the WSOP as the World Series of Texas Hold 'em, and points out that the H.O.R.S.E. event held this year for the first time is a much better barometer of poker skill when looking for the world's best players.
