Joe Pelton Wins Legends of Poker

The four-day tournament known as the 2006 World Poker Tour Legends of Poker has wrapped up and it is Californian Joe Pelton who is the new legendary champion, outlasting the 460 players who all took a shot at the win. Hailing from Newport Beach, Joe Pelton took home the first place prize money of $1,577,170 and a $25,000 seat at the World Poker Tour Championship, not to mention the respect of all the big-name talents he had to face in order to do so. Pelton was in a nice position to win the event, taking his seat at the final table with $1.1 million in chips. Still, he was in the third position out of six, and had to face legends of poker, such as Hoyt Corkins, Frankie O'Dell, Scotty Nguyen, Randy Holland and Kevin O'Donnell. Frankie O'Dell finished second after 69 hands.
