Hold 'em Poker Tournament Planned for Jamaica
22nd 2006f July 2006
Typically when you hear that a big-time tournament taking place in the Caribbean is part of something like the World Poker Tour, a massive professional poker outfit that travels the globe putting on multimillion dollar events. The next poker tournament held in Jamaica, however, may be from a local source. Over the next few weeks the Jamaican tourist Board will be deciding whether or not he will play a role in an upcoming poker tournament put on by Montego Bay's business community. Gary Dyer, the owner of Great Events Management, hopes to put on a poker tournament in order to bring more tourism into Jamaica during the time of year when terrorism is naturally light. The planned site would be on top of the Wexford hotel which would need to be interposed an air-conditioned and provide comfort to the poker players.
