Caesar’s Palace Opening Poker Room
23rd 2005f December 2005
The famous casino and landmark known as Caesar’s Palace is set to open a $12 million poker room this week, joining a number of other downtown and Las Vegas Strip casinos that have rushed to open similar rooms in order to grab a piece of the poker pie. The World Series of Poker is operated by the same outfit that owns Caesar’s Palace, so it was likely only a matter of time before the casino returned poker to its offerings, something they have been missing for the last sixteen years.
Harrah’s Entertainment, the largest casino operator in the world as well as the operator of WSOP, knows the market and knows poker. Their move to open the poker room bodes well for the poker industry as a whole as they would unlikely invest millions into a market they felt was on the decline.
