06th of March 2006
In 2004 the world's largest casino operator, Harrah's Entertainment, made a calculated move; they bought the world famous Las Vegas casino the Horseshoe, in order to get their hands on the World Series of Poker. As soon as they had it, the moved it to the Rio and sold off the Horseshoe, which had hosted the WSOP for 34 years, from its inception in 1970.
Now Binion's Horseshoe is going to be hosting a poker tournament series once again; this time the American Poker Player Championship. The APPC will begin May 10 and run through May 24, with a total of 29 events, with buy ins from $330 to $5,300. It may not be as big or as storied as the World Series of Poker, but there are plenty of professional poker player who will love going back to a tournament event at Binions.
