Aussie Millions Record Entry Field
05th 2007f February 2007
When poker tournament organizers set up a poker event, they have to take into account not only how many players may show up, but how quickly they can pare down the field to get to the final table. At the very popular Aussie Millions event, taking place in Melbourne at the Crown Casino, a record field of 747 players made it Down Under to play - this number dropped to 299 at the start of Day 2, and all the way down to 80 going into Day 3. Haralabos Voulgaris was the chip leader at the end of Day 2 with more than $634,000 in tournament chips. Eventually it was Gus Hansen who claimed the win.
