American Pie Alum Wins Poker Event

While it may seem appropriate that the first poker bash thrown by socialite Nicky Hilton was won by an actress, Shannon Elizabeth is no new comer and her win was no fluke. The inagural Nicky Hilton New Year’s Eve Poker Tournament had 92 players, ranging from pals of the sister of the infamous Paris Hilton to poker pros there for the fun and the money to players who just walked on in. Open to the public, the event offered a chance to ring in the new year in style at the Caesars Palace as well as rub elbows with celebrities. The $120,000 prize pool was a nice incentive as well.
Jennifer Tilley, an actress that proved that celebrities can be masterful poker players too, was on hand as was her boyfriend and poker mentor, the poker pro Phil “the Unabomber” Laak. In the end Shannon Elizabeth took home the prize, showing her experience from a number of WSOP events she played in 2005.
