Absolute Poker Seeks Acquisition of Competition

Online poker room Absolute Poker, home of such professional poker players as Mark Sief, has been rumored to be in the market to buy one of their competitors, Ultimate Bet. Recent reports indicated that the market murmurings were true, and that Absolute Poker will indeed buy out their competition. The two poker rooms will continue to run as independent brands, however, but the joining of forces will propel the new company into the top four, and perhaps the top two, positions of industry giants. The move to join forces was prompted by changes in the industry after the UIGEA was signed into law in mid October.
