Over 33,000 students are all hoping to be one of the lucky ones. They produce a payday in a series of online poker games as part of the College Poker Championship, a poker tournament capitalizing on college students' fascination with the game of poker. Flood, won $41,000 at the College Poker Championship and used the money to pay for his college tuition.
With over $200,000 on the line, students are clamoring at the chance to be one of the poker champions to get their tuition paid for. While there are some critics who say this simply encourages gambling, others point out that because no money is put out by the students it is similar to playing a game show.
