Texas Holdem Rules
|
| |
|
Here you can find brief rules of the most popular kind of poker that is Texas Holdem. The game is played with a typical 52-card deck. There are three versions of the game.
Texas Holdem
In Limit Holdem players may raise up to a specific limit. In Pot Limit Hold'em players may raise the maximum raise is equal to the amount of money in the pot. In No Limit Hold'em players do not have any restrictions for raising the only limitation being the amount of chips they have.
Each variant of the game has its own specific formulary. But general rules are as follows:
Each player gets two cards face down (these are called the holecards) and the betting round starts. After this goes the flop, which means that the first three community cards (or the board cards) are put on the table face up, all together. The players' aim is to maker the best possible five-card combination using both their holecards and the board cards.
Then two more board cards (the turn and the river) come out each time preceded by a betting round. After this goes the last betting round and all the remaining players show their cards (it is called the showdown) and the player with the best hand wins.
One should remember that if a player realizes that he won't win he can quit the game (or fold) at its any stage moving his cards to the dealer. From that moment he is not considered as part of the game.
