No-Limit Texas Holdem

|
No Limit Texas Holdem is the most theoric variation of poker. Its rules are equal to those of Pot Limit and Limit the only difference is that the amount of the players' stake is not restricted. It's the game played at final WSOP tables. However No-Limit games appeared many years before the WSOP or any other international event. In 1889 the legendary American gambler Johnny Dougherty raised to the sum equal to the price of the territory of New Mexico. That was the highest bet ever made. Since that time nobody was able to repeat that heroic deed.
If a person is playing No-Limit he has an option of going all-in. It means that he puts all his money (or chips) in the pot. His opponents should at least call such bet of fold.
The situation when all the players at the table go all-in preflop are quite usual for WSOP. If this happens the game stops (because there is just nothing to bet with) and the dealer turns out the flop, the turn and the river.
To play No-Limit successfully one should be tighter than while playing Limit games. The best example of a successful No-Limit player is T.J. Cloutier - one of the tightest players in the world.
